Lioncrest is a dream for a winter wedding. The entire Biltmore property becomes even more magical in December, with all of the Christmas trees, decorations and twinkle lights casting a romantic glow over every room and grounds. And Lioncrest was no exception. Originally built in the 1930s as a barn to the Estate, Lioncrest was beautifully renovated as an event space in 2006. Nate and Katie had their ceremony and reception under mistletoe on the veranda, and the cocktail hour in the ballroom. The centerpieces were homemade cookies tiered on vintage stands that doubled as guest favors, a tradition in the bride’s hometown. In addition, guests were gifted with ornaments from St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, as a token of the donation that Katie and Nate made to medical research in their guests’ honor.
