Elisabeth and Wes first met each other while serving in the Army where Elisabeth is a nurse and Wes is in special forces. They both share a love of the outdoors, so it was no surprise that when they first saw Rivers Ridge Lodge they knew this would be the perfect place to say “I do.” Rivers Ridge Lodge is a peaceful sanctuary with a rustic setting located next to the river. The lodge is a great wedding destination because it can hold over 100 guests where they can stay for the entire weekend and enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer. Elisabeth and Wes loved the scenery, especially the natural features, so in keeping with the theme of the venue they infused river rocks throughout the decor. A special touch to the reception were the napkins that were hand embroidered by Elisabeth’s aunt and were given to each guest as a favor. The couple was creative and fun when it came to their food selection, which featured Mama Duke’s wood fired pizzas to order. A lovely dessert table featuring mouthwatering cupcakes from Short Street Cakes and decadent truffles from French Broad Chocolates were a huge hit with the guests. The day was surrounded with love and beautiful scenery.
