As we head into the summer season, we wanted to showcase a wedding that was designed to enhance the beauty of the natural surroundings of the venue. The bride and groom chose The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC, a gorgeous, public garden covering over 400 acres, surrounded by the botanically diverse Southern Appalachian Mountains and adjacent to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. With such an organically natural backdrop, soft and succulent could best describe the design and decor details added by Flowers by Larry. A wrap of burlap and twine pulled together bouquets of various shades and textures of foliage and pods, using creamy to taupe flowers as the accent. We loved how many of the arrangements included the sweet aromas of rosemary and eucalyptus. Woodland setting centerpieces were simple and understated in their materials, yet powerful in their statement. Clay pots and reclaimed wooden boxes were dressed with river pebbles, moss and nestled succulents. Boxwoods, hydrangea blooms, fern curls and poppy pods created interest and contrast. A variety of tree names significant to the couple replaced table numbers, a personal touch that made it fun for guests to find their seating!
