Allison and Mike were hitched on a beautiful May day in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Allison, a care manager at the Counsel on Aging and Mike, an executive chef at the Lobster Trap wanted to celebrate their special day with friends and family at a place that was near and dear to their hearts. It was fitting then that Allison and Mike chose Warren Wilson College as their wedding day venue. Allison has special ties to the college because is she an alum and the Canon Lounge of Gladfelter Student Center is named in honor of a member of her family. The college grounds offered guests the opportunity to have cocktails at the pavilion or to move to the lawn for games while enjoying mountain views before heading into Bryson gym for dinner and dancing. Thanks to family and friends, Allison’s vision was brought to life in the farm tables that were decorated with wild flowers and the homemade bacon jam that were given as favors to guests. Paper lanterns adorned the gym ceiling and provided a soft ambiance while guests enjoyed duck confit sliders by The Lowdown. Ian, a friend of the family and pastry chef at Isa’s Bistro made a delicious cake that guests thoroughly enjoyed. With the help of Kathleen Hahn of I Do Dances, family and friends surprised Allison and Mike with a flash mob that left everyone excited to continue dancing. Whitney Shroyer spun records all night and kept guests on their feet. The night ended with guests giving Allison and Mike a sparkler sendoff as they rode off into happiness in a classic car.
