Turning a sweet cabin set in the woods into a magical, panoramic, candlelit celebration of love…this day came together perfectly with a woodland theme. With such a challenging terrain and steep grade, most of this event had a custom-built floor that was specifically wired for the sound and lights. We were so impressed at how Salt & Smoke crafted the most unique and personalized menu especially for this event! The charcuterie spread of smoke fish pates, mousses, terrines and rilettes was paired perfectly with a fall crudite of seasonal vegetables and deviled eggs. The culinary display for dinner was framed by a buffet stand built by the couple from recycled pallets. Buttermilk roasted pork shoulder with leeks, rye bread and pistou, or sausage stuffed pheasant with pan sauce, or whole roasted chicken with brown butter and thyme. Yes, please! The couples’ friend, who happened to be a baker, designed the most wonderful cake for this very theme – check it out! She also put together the most elaborate display of s’mores we’d ever seen. Every last detail of decor tied together nicely with the magnificent backdrop of Hickory Nut Gorge and the terrain of a rocky, running river.
